Morning Star Church Privacy Policy

Morning Star Church wants to respect your privacy, and we have adopted this Privacy Policy to acknowledge the right of people to keep their personal information private.

1. The Information We Collect

Morning Star Church collects and maintains the following types of personal information when you register for events and classes, when you participate in church activities, or when you complete various forms:

 

  • Contact information such as address, phone numbers, and email addresses
  • Relevant data such as marital status, birthdates, school attending, and so on
  • Contributions made to Morning Star Church
  • Records related to church participation, such as service attendance, volunteer positions, and class and special program participation

The information collected may include some sensitive information, like health information or information about your beliefs (only that which is relevant to the services or assistance you have requested from the Church).

Please note that we do not collect or maintain information related to social security numbers or any non-church related financial information.

Where practical, the purpose for which we collect personal information will be made clear at the time of collection. If you choose not to provide us with certain information, we may be unable to provide you with access to some of our services or the assistance you have requested.

Users can visit Morning Star’s web site without revealing who they are or other personal information, unless they complete an online registration form or survey.  The Church will not collect any personal information about visitors to the website, except when they knowingly provide it.

How to Remove Your Name From Our E-Newsletter /Mailing List

Morning Star Church
gives members the following options for removing their address and
email from our database so you will not receive future communications:

  1. Send an email message to our Database Coordinator (anna.tripp@mscwired.org).
  2. Click on the unsubscribe link on any subscription mail you receive, and follow the directions located on the bottom of each email.
  3. Send a letter to the following postal address:

  5. Send your request via fax to 636.561.5685.

If You Want To Change Your Information

We want you to enjoy all of the opportunities at Morning Star Church by keeping your contact information current. Morning Star Church gives users the following options for changing and modifying information previously provided:

2. How We Use Your Information

Morning Star Church will use the personal information we collect for the purpose disclosed at the time we collect it, or as otherwise established in this Privacy Policy. We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorized or required by law. 

In general, we will only use and disclose your personal information as follows:

  1. To establish and maintain your involvement with the Church
  2. To provide the services you have requested from the Church
  3. To answer your inquiry
  4. To register you for events, conferences, or classes
  5. To help us make our web site, services, and events more valuable to our community
  6. For direct promotion of events and to keep you informed of new developments we believe may be of interest to you (If we contact you in this way, without obtaining your prior consent, we will provide the opportunity for you to decline further promotional communication of this nature.)
  7. To different parts of the Church to facilitate the growth of other services and to improve our general ability to assist Church attendees and the wider community
  8. To inform people who inquire regarding businesses owned and operated by Morning Star Church members and attendees. (For example, names of people related to Morning Star Church who provide plumbing services.)  This information will be made available by request only, provided in writing, and accompanied by the disclaimer that Morning Star Church does not recommend, nor guarantee the quality of workmanship, of any particular service provider or business.

Please note that no information will be provided for use by individuals or businesses—even those with connections to Morning Star Church through membership or vendor relationship—for solicitation purposes. 

 

When requested, information about businesses owned and operated by Morning Star Church members and attendees may be provided (e.g., names of MSC attendees who provide plumbing services). This information will be made available by request only, will be provided in writing, and is accompanied by the disclaimer that Morning Star Church neither recommends nor guarantees the quality of workmanship of any particular service provider or business. 

 

3. Access to Your Information

You can see the personal information that Morning Star Church holds about you by:

·         accessing your information online at http://www.mscwired.org/my-information.

·         contacting the Church’s Database Coordinator.  We will provide you with your personal information unless we are legally authorized to refuse your request.   

If you wish to change or disallow access by Morning Star Church ministry leaders or fellow teammates to your personal information, please contact us or make direct changes to your account online at http://www.mscwired.org/my-information. After notice from you, we will take reasonable steps to correct any of your information that is out of date, incomplete, or inaccurate, or we will delete information wherever practical. 

 

4. Security

Morning Star Church will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure, accurate, and up-to-date. Personal information is stored in a secure server or secure files.

5. Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Church may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time by having the amended version available on our web site at https://www.mscwired.org.  If you are interested, we suggest that you visit our web site regularly to keep up to date with any changes.
